Yvonne Adams died from cancer, Kansas basketball community mourns

Yvonne Adams Obituary: Yvonne Adams, beloved mother of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball KJ Adams Jr has sadly passed away. She died after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her beloved family. She was announced dead by her son on his Instagram handle through a post that says “I love you mama, you can rest now”. She was a loving mother and wife. Despite her condition she was very supportive and encouraging to her children.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Adams had his formative years shaped by his time at Westlake High School, where his athletic prowess shone in basketball and lacrosse. His junior season statistics underscored his skill, with an impressive average of 22.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Elevating his game even further, Adams garnered recognition as a 6A All-State player during his senior year, boasting averages of 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
