Wes Smith Obituary, Kathy Cavins-Tull Pays Tribute, Cause Of Death

Wes Smith Obituary, Death – Today, I come to you with a heavy heart to share the devastating news of a tragedy that has struck our community. Early this morning, we lost one of our own, Wes Smith, a Junior majoring in Finance and a member of Kappa Sigma, to a senseless act of violence in the West 7th area. The pain and grief that envelop our campus today are immeasurable, and my thoughts are with all of you as we navigate through this difficult time.
Wes was more than just a student; he was a beloved member of our Horned Frog family. His absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We are mourning the loss of a promising young life, a friend, and a fellow Horned Frog who had dreams and aspirations that were tragically cut short.
In this moment of sorrow, I want to emphasize the importance of seeking support and solace. We have resources available to help you cope with your grief and emotions during this challenging time: Counseling and Mental Health Center: Located on the 2nd floor of Jarvis Hall, their doors are open for walk-ins with no appointment necessary. Religious and Spiritual Life: Carr Chapel is open and staffed with a Chaplain, or you can visit Jarvis Hall, 1st floor, for one-to-one support. No appointments are needed
Employee Assistance Program:** If you’re an employee in need of support, you can reach out to the Employee Assistance Program at 888-335-4914 (Web ID: TCU). We are also actively supporting Wes’ closest friends and classmates during this difficult time. As we gather more information, I will provide a more detailed announcement with opportunities for us to come together as a community to support one another and pay tribute to Wes’ memory.
Today, let us lean on each other for strength and comfort as we remember the life and contributions of Wes Smith. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the resources available to you, and remember that you are not alone in your grief.
