UTC Student Death: A University of Tennessee at Chattanooga student passed away on Tuesday, November 7, afternoon in an on-campus residence.

There is no suspicion of foul play, and we will not release the name of the student to protect the privacy of the family and friends who are directly impacted by this loss.

The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) has already been in contact with the student’s family, and we are in the process of contacting students and employees known to be directly impacted. The University’s CARE Team (www.utc.edu/care) has been activated and will respond accordingly.

Losing a member of our community is a tragedy. University resources are available to assist students, faculty, and staff in need 24/7:

The Counseling Center will offer individual counseling sessions for students during their regular hours of operation. To make an appointment, students should call (423) 425-4438 or visit the University Center, Room 338 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
