Tristan Smith Car Accident: Tristan Smith, a 12-year-old 7th grader at Biloxi Junior High, tragically lost his life on a Sunday afternoon. He was struck by a Jeep while attempting to cross Lamey Bridge Road, just north of Sangani Boulevard, in D’Iberville, Mississippi.

Who was Tristan Smith?

Tristan Smith, a resident of Biloxi, is remembered as a young soul who departed from our midst prematurely. Tristan was known for his warm smile, genuine affection, and a promising future. He is cherished deeply by his family, friends, and the community.

Tristan was a successful student in the 7th grade at Biloxi Junior High School. He was recognized for his passion for learning and his eagerness to explore new things. His classmates describe him as a cheerful and helpful friend who radiated positivity both inside and outside the classroom.

Regrettably, Tristan’s departure from this world is a profound loss for his family, friends, and the community. Nevertheless, we come together to commemorate his memory and honor his loving spirit. As we bid farewell to Tristan, we pledge ongoing support to his family and friends during these difficult times. We will always carry him and the memories we shared with him in our hearts.

What Happened To Tristan Smith?

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., and first responders, including officers and fire rescue personnel, quickly arrived at the scene. An off-duty nurse also stopped to assist and joined in the efforts to save Tristan’s life. Despite their immediate and continuous life-saving efforts, medical personnel at the scene determined the severity of Tristan’s injuries.

A D’Iberville Police officer then transported Tristan to Merit Health Biloxi, with a nurse and firefighter accompanying them to continue life-saving measures. Unfortunately, Tristan Smith succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital due to blunt force trauma, as confirmed by Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.

The initial investigation indicated that Tristan was with friends and attempting to cross Lamey Bridge Road near the C-Store, heading west toward Academy Sports, when a Jeep traveling south struck him.

Both the D’Iberville Police Department and the Biloxi Police Department are conducting an investigation into the incident, but at the time of the article, no charges were expected to be filed.
