Tim Wilkerson Motorcycle Accident: Former Brookville Chief of Police Killed

Tim Wilkerson Obituary: A motorcycle accident with severe injuries on Harrison Brookville Rd. was reported without further details on Thursday, September 21.

On Friday, the crash was confirmed as fatal, and the deceased victim was identified as former Brookville Chief of Police Tim Wilkerson.

The Brookville Police Department confirmed Wilkerson’s unexpected death in a social media post on Friday.

“The community of Brookville has suffered a heartbreaking and unexpected loss,” the post read.

Former Brookville Chief of Police Tim Wilkerson started his law enforcement career as a reserve with the Laurel Police Department in 1998. In September of 2003 he started as a reserve patrolman with the Brookville Police Department, shortly after in December of 2003 Wilkerson began his full-time law enforcement career with the BPD. Wilkerson rose through the ranks of the Brookville Police Department and accepted the position of Brookville Chief of Police in December of 2014, he served as Brookville’s Chief for 3 years.

Wilkerson dedicated 19 years of his life to the service of others through law enforcement and during that time touched the hearts of many in our community. Wilkerson was a loving father, grandfather, and a beloved friend. He continued his service to others as a member of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club where he assisted in raising money for many community improvements and charities, including the Brookville Police Department K9 program.

He had a big heart, and his presence alone would brighten any room he entered. Wilkerson had a way of keeping a smile on the faces of his coworkers even during the most difficult times. The BPD will be forever grateful for the impact Wilkerson has had on our department. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Details concerning the circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be made available, as the investigation is ongoing.
