Tex Collins Obituary: Legendary eThekwini Councillor, Cause of Death

Tex Collins Death

Tex Collins Obituary, Death Cause: Tex Collins, legendary eThekwini Councillor reportedly passed away earlier today. On August 7, 2022, it is with great sadness that DA member and eThekwini councillor, Tex Collins, has passed away after a short battle against cancer.

Tex was certainly a colourful character in the corridors of City Hall – a man who was not afraid to speak his mind. With Tex, there were no grey areas when it came to matters of principle and he often used his sharp wit to drive a point. One such example is his use of the phrase “it’s not worth a bucket of spit”.

Tex was indeed an institution within the DA, having served as a councillor for 27 years. He filled the role of eThekwini DA caucus leader and was also elected as a Deputy Chairperson in KZN. He fulfilled both roles with passion and determination.
