Tanner Ching Car Accident: 22-Year-Old Pierson, MI, Teenager, died in Crash

Tanner Ching, a 22-year-old resident of Pierson, Michigan, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Thursday, September 14, 2023, in Mio, Michigan.
He was a nature enthusiast, an avid fisherman, and a hardworking, honest individual who was beloved by everyone who knew him. He had a deep love for dogs and valued his friendships dearly.
Tanner got an education at Alpena Community College, and he graduated from Tri-County High School. He resided in Pierson, Michigan.

The accident took place when deputies from the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office pulled over the vehicle Tanner was in, along with another individual, on Thompson Road in Big Creek Township. They were driving a pickup truck at the time of the incident, which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road, colliding with multiple trees, and ultimately overturning before coming to a stop.
Despite the efforts of first responders who arrived at the scene, Tanner, who was the passenger in the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Hunter Hengesbach, originally from Westphalia, was detained by authorities. The authorities suspect that excessive speed and alcohol consumption may have contributed to the crash.
