Ta’Kiya Monet Obituary, Death – It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young, a bright light in our lives. Born on August 1, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio, Ta’Kiya’s radiant spirit left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. On August 24, 2023, in Sandusky, Ohio, at just 21 years old, she departed this world, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
Ta’Kiya’s journey through life was a testament to her vibrant personality and her zest for living. Her work in the Customer Service industry, where she brought joy and laughter to Cedar Point’s guests, showcased her innate ability to uplift those around her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, dancing, and creating TikTok videos. Her prankster nature and infectious laughter could light up any room. A determined athlete, Ta’Kiya pursued her passion for track and field during her time at Champion Middle School and Bridgescape High School.
Alongside her athletic endeavors, she embraced her role as a loving mother to her two cherished sons, Ja’kobie and Ja’kenlei. She had eagerly anticipated the arrival of her little girl, a dream that remains unfulfilled. Ta’Kiya’s legacy lives on through her surviving family members, who loved her deeply: her father, Timothy Young Sr.; her grandmother, Nadine Young; her sisters, Ta’Nyla Young and Ta’Laya Hope; her brothers, Timothy Young Jr. and Lazarus Young Lawson, and her great-grandmother, Johnnie Rouse. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Danneka Hope.
A funeral service will be held at The Marlan Gary Funeral Home, The Chapel of Peace, 2500 Cleveland Ave. on September 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. As we mourn the loss of Ta’Kiya, let us remember her vivacious spirit, her laughter that echoed through our hearts, and her unconditional love for all. In our hearts, she will forever dwell, a symbol of strength and joy. Though she is gone, Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young will be eternally loved and cherished.
