Albany Shooting – A person has been taken into custody after it was alleged that they fired two shots from a shotgun at Temple Israel in Albany at approximately 2:00 p.m. According to the Albany Police Department, investigators are currently attempting to determine the motive. It has not been established by the police whether Temple Israel was the intended target.
As of right now, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies are conducting investigations into the incident, according to Governor Hochul. In accordance with Governor Hochul, a man who is 28 years old has been taken into prison, and there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.
Hochul stated that the suspect allegedly made “threatening statements” while the event was taking place. As far as the governor is concerned, the suspect, who has a previous record of criminal activity, is currently awaiting an arraignment.
It was necessary to lock down an early childhood center that was located on the property; nevertheless, the governor stated that parents were eventually able to retrieve their children from the care facility.
According to Hochul, she told Rabbi Wendy Love Anderson that she had a conversation with her and reassured her that her congregation would be protected. It has been stated by the governor that there is no other ongoing threat.
