Sam Bornhauser Death – Retired Real Estate Agent Sam Bornhauser of Columbia, Missouri has sadly passed away. He died leaving family and friends devastated. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads “Yesterday I lost another cousin Sam Bornhauser. Sam used to always say to me “I know I’m your favorite cousin”. I would say “yes, you are, you always have been.” The actual cause of Sam Bornhauser’s death has not been revealed.

Sam Bornhauser Career

After a prosperous 15-year career in hospital software development and administration, he made the shift to the real estate market in the year 1986. After another fifteen years of devoted service to sales, he ultimately gained leadership roles and eventually became the owner of a real estate agency in Columbia that was of a medium size and operated for a number of years. But he couldn’t shake the feeling that he needed to get back to his actual passion. As someone who was born and raised in Columbia, as well as someone who went to Hickman High School and the University of Missouri, he was able to observe the rapid development of Columbia from a sleepy college town to the bustling city that it is today.

In addition to his professional endeavors, he maintained an active involvement in the community by mentoring young athletes in the sports of football, basketball, and baseball. In addition to this, he was a founding member of the Hickman Touchdown Club and served as its president in the past. He was also recognized as the Jaycee of the Year and received additional accolades for his contributions to a variety of social clubs and civic organizations.

Sam and Karen ‘Kemper’ Wingert were married in 2009 and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Sam Winn Bornhauser, Jr (Allison), stepchildren Jason Wingert (Heather) and Jenifer Wingert (Mike Hester). Nine grandchildren: Sam Winn III (Trey), Timothy James (TJ) and Kathryn Rae (Katy) Bornhauser; Reid & Ellis Wingert; Callahan & Corrigan Hester and Charlotte and Emersyn Wingert-Hester. Four sisters Pam Pugh (Ron), Jane Edwards (Ron), Jone Piontek (Jeff), Beth Weinsting (Mitch); several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
