Rebecca Steer Accident, Death Cause: Rebecca Steer, 22, was the young woman killed in the horrific traffic accident that occurred in Oswestry.

After a hit-and-run accident in Oswestry resulted in the death of a 22-year-old woman, a man has been detained on suspicion of murder.

At around 02:50 BST, according to West Mercia Police, a car hit two persons outside the Grill Out takeout on Willow Street after mounting a kerb.

The 28-year-old man was detained on allegations of trying to kill someone.

The woman who died has been named as Rebecca Steer and her family has paid tribute to “the most loving, talented, and kind-hearted person”.

Her family said she “will be greatly missed”, adding that: “She always had a smile and a laugh that made everybody love her.

“She was the best daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend anyone could ask for.”

The second person, who suffered serious injuries, is receiving hospital treatment. Ms. Steer passed away shortly after arriving at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
