Ralph Dennis Obituary: Ralph Dennis Olathe, Kansas passed away on Monday, November 6, his 43 years as an educator in Olathe junior and senior high schools (1948-1991) were marked by achievement, service, and compassion.
According to Olathe Public Schools WALL OF HONOR 2012, He grew up in Parsons, Kan., attended Pittsburg State, and started his career in Olathe. In addition to teaching social studies, he coached football, basketball, and tennis. Other extracurricular involvement included senior class sponsors, the Kansas Association for Youth, and Future Teachers of America. He taught adult education classes and served as a Boy Scout counselor.
Ralph organized and directed the Olathe Recreation Program from 1956 until 1969. He taught Sunday school for 31 years and served as an usher for 62 years. Ralph’s good humor and service earned him many public honors such as Emporia State University Master Teacher, Kansas State High School Activities Association Hall of Fame, Olathe Community Pride Award, and Olathe Citizen of the Year.
