Platte City Shooting: 1 dead, shots fired at Wendy’s restaurant in Missouri

Platte City Shooting: There is a major police presence in the town of Platte City in Missouri following a shooting report. According to sources, a shooting took place at Wendy’s parking lot in Platte City located at 1400 Platte Falls Road. According to witnesses who were across the street in the Walgreens parking lot when the shots were fired stated that two people were involved in the shooting.

Witnesses reported seeing two bodies lying on the west side of Wendy’s parking lot before police and EMS arrived. No arrests have been reportedly made and the identities of the bodies were not immediately released. People are asked to stay away from the area while authorities look into what happened.

Joe Wellington, the chief of police in Platte City, provided an update, saying that two people were shot; one has died and the other is very ill. The parking lot is where the shooting happened. Though the suspect is thought to be out of the region, no one is in jail. He claimed that as of right now, authorities don’t have any more information that would identify the victims. The chief stated that he had requested that the Kansas City Metro Squad be dispatched. As of right now, local police are still on the site.
