Paul Giallonardo Death – Former Windsor Spitfires defenceman and Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Alumnus Paul Giallonardo has sadly passed away. He died after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday 10th December 2023 at the age of 39. He was confirmed dead on Monday through a Facebook post that says “The Windsor Spitfires are mourning the passing of Alumni Paul Giallonardo who passed away at age of 39, after a battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Giallonardo family at this time”.
Paul Giallonardo Birth and Career
Giallonardo, who was born and raised in Unionville, Ontario, was selected by the Spitfires in the fourth round of the Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection in the year 2000. Between the years 2001 and 2005, he was a member of the team for a total of four seasons, during which he displayed his abilities by scoring 18 goals, assisting on 73 others, and accumulating 91 points throughout a total of 247 regular-season games. Moreover, he had a plus/minus rating of plus-18 throughout his career and participated in 35 postseason games, during which he scored 15 points (3-12–15) and contributed to the team’s overall performance.
