At the age of 17, one year after starting his career as an apprentice, Robinson, who was born in 1957 a mere 100 yards from Goodison Park, was signed by the Blues.

Before moving on to Swansea City, the fullback liked Everton and made more than 20 appearances for the team. He scored seven goals while playing more than 120 times for the Swans.

Robinson spent four years and over 100 appearances with Grimsby Town before moving on to his final professional club, Darlington.
