Marilyn Sweet Obituary: Retired Hollis Hand Elementary School Teacher Marilyn Sweet of LaGrange, Georgia has died. She passed away on Friday 17th November 2023 surrounded by her beloved family at the age of 69. She was announced dead by the school through a post that says “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of former Hollis Hand teacher, Mrs. Marilyn Sweet, who passed away this morning after a brief illness”.

Mrs. Sweet is survived by her husband, Gerald Sweet; her children, Nolen Sweet (Kelsey), Ashley Brock (Elizabeth), Aundrea Roland (Mark), and Blaine Sweet (Melisa); her siblings, Jacqueline Cobb and Robert Pruitt (Lisa); her grandchildren, Katie Sweet, Kinzy Roland, Carlee Roland, Kayla Sweet, Jackson Sweet, Rhett Sweet, Joelle Sweet, Beau Sweet, and Marilee Brock.
The family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023. The funeral service will be held at Clearview Chapel at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2023. The committal service will directly follow the funeral and will be held at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. Pastor Charlie Metcalf will officiate the service. Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the exceptional education students at Hollis Hand Elementary.
