Macomb Shooting, incident near Western Illinois University (WIU)

Macomb Shooting: The Macomb Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred at the intersection of Johnson and Pierce streets Tuesday. A suspect has been arrested after the shooting incident that law enforcement agencies say happened around 7 A.M. Following the incident, the Western Illinois University (WIU) has assured students that there is no threat to the community.
Western Illinois University: “A shooting took place at the corner of Johnson and Pierce streets this morning. The subject is in custody and this is believed to be an isolated incident with no immediate threats to the community. Continue to check wiu.edu/news for the most up-to-date information.”
The identity of the victim has not been released at the time of this publication. Law enforcement agencies were called to the scene for a report of a drive-by shooting.
