Juan Davila Death: Man Shot and Killed After Road Rage Incident in South Austin

Juan Davila Death News: The Austin Police Department is investigating after a road rage incident turned deadly Thursday night in South Austin.

APD said 9-1-1 received multiple calls at around 5:32 p.m. regarding a disturbance involving a gun in the parking lot at the SoCo Park Apartments located at 7201 South Congress Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene at about 5:36 p.m. and located a man, later identified as 32-year-old Juan Davila, with obvious signs of trauma. CPR was immediately given until Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on the scene. However, Davila was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:45 p.m.

Investigators interviewed witnesses, who said that Davila and another man were facing off after a road rage incident. Davila pulled out a gun and was then shot and killed by the other man. The other man involved has been identified, but no charges have been filed yet.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
