Jon Pogatchnik Obituary: Jon Pogatchnik, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, High School teacher has passed away on Monday, December 4, he was 62 years old. The students at Eden Prairie High School give him the nickname Pogo, not only because of a particular relationship between them, but also because of the way the last name of Jon Pogatchnik, who teaches history there, is spelled.
Pogo started Cross Country at CMS in the late 80’s and coached XC and track before moving to EPHS to coach Nordic skiing. He was a great teacher, coach and friend.
He lives in Waconia; his son attended Waconia High School and studied Secondary education at Winona State University. Jon experienced the suffered the demise of his 18-year-old son Jack in 2015. Jack suffered a cardiac arrest at the Waconia Community Center while exercising with his companions. Ridgeview Medical Center followed by Abbot Northwestern Hospital received him.
