John Weatherby Death – John Wetherbee, a radio meteorologist who had a long career, has passed away. In addition to being known as “Big John” due to his height of six feet nine inches, Wetherbee was a well-known voice to audiences all throughout the country, including those in Ohio, California, Illinois, and Georgia, where he was born and raised.

Big John initiated his radio weather service in 1997, in collaboration with the Envision Radio Network, whereby he furnished exclusive forecasts to 161 radio stations across the nation and three networks. Owing to his profound knowledge, he was appointed Chief Meteorologist for several CBS television stations, including those in Atlanta, Savannah, Nashville, and Chattanooga. Additionally, he served on the radio in a multitude of markets, including Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, Indianapolis, Athens, and Atlanta. Additionally, he was an on-air personality for 98.7 The River and served as operations manager for Clear Channel Savannah for three years.
