Joel Tuoriniemi Car Accident: Joel Tuoriniemi passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, following a vehicle accident. Loved ones are devastated by the unexpected passing of Joel. He was pronounced dead as a result of the severe injuries he suffered in the accident.
Early this morning, there was a terrible rollover accident. The 50-year-old Mohawk man died as a result of injuries he received in the collision, according to sources. The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a single-vehicle rollover crash with the driver stuck inside at 2:10 in the morning. The event happened as the person was traveling north on US 41.
Unfortunately, the car lost control, crossed the center line, and eventually rolled over, stopping against an empty house. Because of the quick effort, the driver was successfully extricated from the car and taken to UP Health Systems Portage for medical assistance.
The cause of the collision is still being looked into, and Joel Tuoriniemi has not been named as a victim. Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, MSP Calumet Post troopers, Allouez Township Fire and First Responders, and the Calumet Township Fire Department all provided assistance to the Keweenaw County Sheriff.
