Jayvon Pryor Death – Jayvon Pryor, a student who was in his first year, took his own life and passed away off campus. Jayvon graduated from the Ohio institution Cleveland Heights High School. There will be a candlelight vigil held on campus in Jayvon’s honor. from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
As is always the case, our Counseling Center is open to provide counseling services. Calling 704-337-2556 or sending an email to [email protected] are both acceptable methods for scheduling appointments. Students have the opportunity to get crisis counseling at the Health and Wellness Center located on Wellesley Avenue from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will be connected to a counselor as soon as possible upon their arrival at the center. When phoning 704-337-2556 and selecting the second option from the menu, you will be able to have access to counseling resources both during the day and on the weekends. For those who are in need of a peaceful place to grieve, Belk Chapel will be open from noon to two o’clock in the afternoon. In the near future, we will follow up with memorial preparations to commemorate Jayvon’s life; however, for the time being, our community needs to come together to assist our fellow Royals who are going through a difficult time.
