Janelle Portwood Obituary: Janelle Marie Portwood passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was confirmed dead through a social media publication that read “Please keep the Portwood family in your thoughts and prayers. We learned this morning that our beautiful friend, Janelle, passed away yesterday. We surprised her with a visit in August 2021. Our hearts are aching for her wonderful family. Rest In Peace Janelle. You will be forever loved and missed.”

In April 2021, Janelle was diagnosed with lung cancer which metastasized to the brain, according to a fundraising page created in 2021 to raise funds for Janelle’s medical expenses. Brain surgery occurred shortly after the diagnosis, to remove the largest of three brain tumors. The GoFundMe page was organized to raise $60,000 raising the sum of $30,255. Janelle was surrounded by an army of prayer warriors, volunteers, and a network of family and friends.

On November 11, Mike shared the last update on Janelle’s health in a statement that read “Asking for prayer for Nel and the boys. Nel started hospice last night and has been declining pretty quickly over the last few days.” Sadly on Monday, Janelle passed away.
