Who was Jane Marie Ringer Thornburg?
Mrs. Thornburg was a native of Birmingham, Ala., and moved to the Chattanooga area when she was eight years old and lived in the Rossville/Fort Oglethorpe area since 1952. Mrs. Thornburg was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and a prayer warrior throughout her life.
In 1960 she became an active member of the South Rossville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 54 years, sang in the church choir, was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, and was known for her card ministry. She was retired from K-Mart in Fort Oglethorpe with 25 years of service. Mrs. Thornburg also volunteered with Boynton Commodities, sang with the Sweet Adeline’s, enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.
