Henry Alexie Boat Accident: Atmautluak, Kuskokwim River Boating Accident

Henry Alexie boat accident: A young man has died in a devastating incident on the Kuskokwim River and there are fears for another after a small boat collided with a towed barge whereabouts.
Alaska State Troopers reported the unfortunate collision between a 14-foot boat driven by 22-year-old Henry Alexiee of Atmatruk and a 285-foot barge A rear collision occurred. The massive barge is being towed by a smaller 119-foot tugboat.
Authorities were alerted to the tragic incident around 4:40 p.m. That fateful Wednesday happened near the community of Oscarville, which sits along the Kuskokwim River. Oscarville is located about six miles downstream from Bethel.
In an effort to save Henry Alexiee’s life, the barge’s crew acted quickly, rescuing him from the depths of the river and taking life-saving measures. Despite their best efforts, unfortunately, they were unable to revive him.
