George Baird Obituary: Canadian architect, scholar, and architectural educator, George Baird died at 84 on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

George Baird was the Professor Emeritus George Baird, alumnus (BArch 1962), former dean, and beloved friend of the Faculty. The Faculty has extended its condolences to his wife Elizabeth and to his many colleagues, friends, and admirers.

Education

Baird was born in Toronto and received his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree from the University of Toronto School of Architecture in 1962. He carried out postgraduate research at University College, London. While he was at University College, Baird co-edited the book Meaning in Architecture with Charles Jencks.
