Gavrie Whitlock Obituary: Snellville Man, Died in Lake Lanier drowning incident
The Whitlock family and friends continue to mourn the loss of their beloved son, Gavrie, who died tragically over the holiday weekend.
According to Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials, game wardens received reports of a drowning at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier on Saturday.
According to reports, Whitlock was running down a dock when he slipped and fell into the water and did not resurface.
However, as the clock struck 10:30 pm on Saturday night, Whitlock failed to resurface, leaving onlookers in a state of shock and concern. Unfortunately, Whitlock was discovered deceased.
Hall County Fire Rescue crews recovered the victim’s body in 17 feet of water, a report says.
The investigation into his death remains ongoing.
As announced by the Whitlock family, a memorial service for Gavrie Whitlock will be held on Friday, September 8th, at 1 p.m. at Grace New Hope church. Address: 1766 New Hope Rd., Lawrenceville, GA 30045.
The family will be available for visitation after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in memory of Gavrie, to Grace Student ministries. This is the student Ministry that Gavrie grew up in. The money will be used to send kids to camp during the summer.
