Elizabeth Brennan, former U.S. Senator Patrick Moynihan’s wife passed away

Elizabeth Brennan Moynihan Obituary: Elizabeth B. Moynihan, the 94-year-old spouse of former U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-New York), expired at her residence on Tuesday, November 7th.
She was a powerful, strong, thoughtful, and creative woman. Politically, she was recognized as the astute campaign manager who secured her husband’s 1976 Senate election and maintained his seat for the next twenty-four years. However, Moynihan spent only a portion of his existence in Washington.
Her “head and heart,” as she once put it, remained in India, where Moynihan served as U.S. ambassador from 1973 to 1975. Moynihan initially rebelled against the stringent protocols of diplomacy. Driven to discover India beyond the ambassador’s residence, she devoted herself to studying the nation’s history. She achieved the esteemed status of an authority on Mughal gardens.
