Edna Runner Death: Longtime Jupiter-area resident Edna Runner has passed away unexpectedly. Edna Runner of Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center was announced dead on Friday. She died at the age of 72. Edna was a community trailblazer who believed the children of West Jupiter deserved an opportunity to live the American dream. No cause of death was reported for Edna Runner.

About Edna Runner

For 37 years, Runner extended after-school care to numerous at-risk students in Limestone Creek. Among her cherished moments were the reunions with former students as they progressed in their lives.

Having served as the executive director of the center since 2002, Runner’s connections trace back to the Limestone Creek neighborhood, situated north of Indiantown Road, where the center is located.

Her roots in the community run deep, with her family’s move from South Carolina to the area in 1955, prompted by her father’s employment in road construction on what would later become Florida’s Turnpike.
