Don Laughlin Death, Cause Of Death: Owner of Don Laughlin Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino Don Laughlin of Laughlin, Nevada has sadly passed away. He died on Sunday 22nd October 2023 at the age of 92 surrounded by his beloved family.

He was announced dead on his business page on Facebook through a post that says “It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of a legend and Laughlin Pioneer, Donald J. Laughlin, on 10/22/2023. He was 92 years young”. The cause of his death was not stated.

Don Laughlin’s Early Life

Don Laughlin was in Owatonna, Minnesota on May 4, 1931. He spent his early winters trapping fur, using the earnings to acquire slot machines that he then installed in hunting lodges. Generating a steady income of $500 per week, his trajectory took a turn when his school principal issued an ultimatum: abandon the slot machine business or leave school. Opting to depart from academia, Laughlin charted a new course. In the late 1950s, Laughlin relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, and procured his inaugural casino, dubbed the “101 Club.”

However, by 1964, Laughlin had divested from the 101 Club. During the same period, while flying his private aircraft over the tri-state area of California, Arizona, and Nevada, Laughlin marveled at the burgeoning development around the Colorado River.
