Dillian Shearer Obituary: Late on Tuesday in Wilmerding, an adolescent male was shot and murdered. At 11:30 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the 300 block of Patton Street in response to gunfire reports. An Allegheny County police report states that they discovered a male juvenile who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. At the scene, he was declared deceased. The fifteen-year-old, Dillian Shearer of Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, was named by the medical examiner.
Dillan attended East Allegheny High School, according to an email from the acting superintendent of the East Allegheny School District Joe DiLucente’s parents. To guarantee the safety of the students and staff, DiLucente noted that the North Versailles Police Department and district security will provide additional assistance.
The district is also sending in extra counselors and community groups to handle the additional needs of students and staff. DiLucente invites parents and guardians to speak out regarding concerns or support requirements for their children. After the district declared Dillan’s demise, several students reported a Snapchat post regarding an alleged school shooting threat directed at the district, according to a second letter written by DiLucente.
According to DiLucente, the North Versailles Police Department is actively looking into the claim, but there is no evidence that the threat is real. No arrests have been reportedly made at the time of this publication. Call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS if you have any information. Callers can stay anonymous.
