Denis Joseph Carey Obituary, Cause Of Death: Popular Irish former hurler player has tragically passed away. Denis Joseph Carey otherwise known as DJ Casey allegedly died from an apparent suicide following a battle with mental illness (depression) and anxieties.
According to reports, the 52-year-old was pronounced dead after taking own life yesterday. This incident happened weeks after the “GAA’s first superstar” and a “hurling legend” appeared in court following the controversial fraudulent cancer diagnosis and cash-raising schemes.

Famous hurler from Kilkenny DJ Carey allegedly cried out for financial help for cancer treatments in 2022. According to RTÉ, the 52-year-old appeared before a court in Dublin on Friday morning where he was charged with 21 counts of theft and forgery against 25 people over eight years.
Who Was DJ Carey?
DJ Carey, was an Irish former hurler who once played for the Kilkenny county side, was born on November 11, 1970. Carey’s hurling career got its start with the Young Ireland’s club team. In 1988, at the age of 17, he made his way onto the club’s top adult squad, and in 1992, he witnessed the club’s first taste of success when they won the Kilkenny Intermediate Championship and were promoted to the top division of Kilkenny hurling.
