Dana Davis Obituary: The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department reports that Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett was contacted on November 1 at 6:35 p.m. concerning the potential discovery of human remains. Sheriff Garrett asserts that farmers harvesting soybeans in a field near Cobb Crossing and Highway 79 made the discovery.

Sheriff Garrett states that after it was determined that the body belonged to a human, he, deputies, and investigators responded to the site and requested the services of the local coroner. Garrett affirms the body was subsequently identified as that of a female.

Sheriff Garrett states that the body will be transported to the Memphis medical examiner’s office for identification and to ascertain the cause of death. The body has not yet been positively identified as Dana Davis, who was reported missing from her residence on Cobb Crossing approximately three weeks ago, according to Sheriff Garrett.

Dana Davis was reported missing from Haywood County, Tennessee (near the Crockett County, Tennessee line) since Sunday, October 15th. Dana is 52- years- old, 5’6, and around 130 pounds. Davis was last seen wearing jeans, a pullover, and black sandals. The local police searched for Dana with no leads.
