Who was Dan McBride?
Dan was born and raised in northern Ohio, entered the army in 1942, and became a Paratrooper. He landed close to the small village of Le Broc in Normandy and would fight during the full campaign, including fighting down the N13 (Purple Heart Lane) during the attack on Carentan.
Dan was larger than life individual and could be seen at many WWII reunions and functions. He was a true inspiration to young military members and always had time to share the experiences that he went through as a member of the F Company, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne.
