Daisaku Ikeda Obituary: Daisaku Ikeda, who was the Honorary President of the Soka Gakkai and the President of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), passed away at his home in Shinjuku, which is located in Tokyo on the evening of November 15. His death was the result of natural causes. He was 95 years old.

On January 2, 1928, Ikeda made his debut in the world in Tokyo. In 1960, he was sworn in as the third President of the Soka Gakkai, and he went on to lead the laity Buddhist movement for nearly two decades, guiding it through nearly two decades of dramatic growth that also witnessed significant international development. In 1975, he was elected President of Soka Gakkai International (SGI), and in 1979, he was made Honorary President of Soka Gakkai.

His wife Kaneko and sons Hiromasa and Takahiro survive him. A funeral ceremony was conducted with members of his immediate family, and it is anticipated that the time and date of memorial services will be communicated shortly.
