What was Cole Kerns’ cause of death?

Standing on a porch behind Sophie’s Saloon off Brownsville Road, a 28-year-old man was shot and died. Just after 1:30 a.m., investigators were dispatched to the scene of the incident, which occurred close to Brownsville Avenue and Agnew Avenue in Carrick. A warrant for the arrest of Corey Rall, 25, was issued, and on Monday he turned himself into the authorities. Cole Kerns of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the victim of a gunshot off of Brownsville Road, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.

Just after 1:30 a.m., Sophie’s Saloon called investigators to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Kerns shot in the head and shoulder on the rear porch of the establishment. He was declared dead at the scene by the medics. About seven people were on the deck, according to a witness, and everything seemed normal until Kerns punched a man. The man pulled out a gun, shot Kerns twice, and ran down West Agnew.
