Who was Clu Gulager?

He originally gained recognition for his performance on television, when he co-starred with William H. Bonney in the 1960–1962 NBC Western series The Tall Man and played Emmett Ryker in The Virginian, another NBC Western series. He eventually pursued a second career as an actor in horror movies.

The Killers by Don Siegel featured Gulager in his first significant cinematic appearance.

At the 1969 Cannes Film Festival, Gulager directed the short film A Day with the Boys, which was up for the Palme d’Or for best short film.
