Burt Young affectionately known to many as Gerald Tommaso DeLouise was announced dead on the 8th of October 2023. He died in Los Angeles, California at the age of 83. His passing was confirmed by his daughter. No cause of death was reported for Burt Young.

Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, who was born on April 30, 1940, was an American actor, author, and painter better known by his stage name Burt Young. In the Rocky film series, he portrayed his best friend and brother-in-law Paulie Pennino, an individual who was also Rocky Balboa.

His performance in the inaugural installment of the franchise earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Formerly a member of the cast of Back to School (1986), Chinatown (1974), The Gambler (1974), The Killer Elite (1975), Convoy (1978), Uncle Joe Shannon (1978), Last Exit to Brooklyn (1990), Mickey Blue Eyes (1999), Transamerica (2005), Bottom of the 9th (2019), and A Summer to Remember (1985) were among the films in which Young appeared.
