A Rookie Police Officer died in an Accidental firing
According to the Police report – A police officer died after accidentally shooting himself while cleaning his gun in their house in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
The 24-year-old Patrolman Val Liansing of the same place and assigned in Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) as a member of the Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Team was found dead at 11:40 a.m.
His body was found inside the bathroom with a gunshot wound on his jaw.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Mark Anthony Pabuaya of Police Station 7 the victim was cleaning his personal firearm, a caliber45 pistol when he accidentally squeezed the trigger of his gun which went off hitting his jaw.
He was brought by his colleagues to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, but he was declared dead on arrival.
The rookie cop was supposed to undergo training for the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC).
